About the WPA Federal Art Project

Selections from The Work Projects Administration (WPA), a part of the New Deal projects of the 1930′s. The poster collection consists of posters produced from 1936 to 1943 by various branches of the WPA, all under the banner of a Federal Art Project. This project, the work it created and the lives it touched, were a huge inspiration for Creative Action Network and thousands of other artists both for how they shaped the American aesthetic and the idea of government-sponsored art.
