Artist Statement

When the 2016 election was over and we chose our president, for the first time in my life I had experienced fear that I had not really known until that point. I know that there are other people in the world who share my fear. I wanted to reminde people of America what we can do to help those who are afraid. Although my image focuses on the LBGT community, because that topic hits so close to home for me, I also wanted to create something that could communicate this message of support, acceptance and freedom to anyone who needs it right now and to anyone who doesn't know what they can do. — Carlyle McCormack
