Artist Statement

This image is a stylistic, decorative text with illustrated flowers promoting the Green New Deal. It represents the earth & the living planets that grow on it that need a new path forward by changing the system with the Green New Deal to emphasize environmental sustainability and a move away from carbon based energy sources. I am creating art for the Green New Deal, because I believe we must follow a sustainable path forward and have big systemic change so that humanity can avoid climate disruption and planetary collapse. Bearing witness to the 6th mass extinction means we must choose a path forward which supports all life on this planet, not just that for oil corporations which ultimately cause climate change. - alixandra mullins
