Green New Deal

Green New Deal

Taking style inspiration from the original posters of the WPA, our artist community's Green New Deal designs advocate for solutions on climate change, employment inequality and similar challenges we face today.

About the Green New Deal

The Green New Deal is a set of economic stimulus proposals in the U.S. that offer solutions for climate change, economic inequality and other challenges facing our country today. The phrase 'Green New Deal' is taken from the original New Deal, referring to the social and economic reforms and public works projects brought forth by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to address the Great Depression in 1930s and 1940s America. With this campaign we seek to give a creative voice to the Green New Deal movement and the artists behind it, just as the original WPA (Works Progress Administration) Federal Art Project prints helped visually shape the New Deal and put hundreds of artists back to work during a very difficult time in our nation's history.

Proudly Supporting Sunrise Movement

Our cause partner for the Green New Deal is Sunrise Movement, a rapidly-growing organization dedicated to stopping climate change while creating millions of good jobs in the process. Sunrise is a grassroots, ground-up coalition of concerned citizens who seek to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.

What Our Artists Have To Say

"Broad changes meant to better society and the environment we occupy are imperative, and with many different industries and people working together, hopefully we can make this bright future a reality!"

-Sayada Ramdial

"Our current habits and way of life are becoming increasingly destructive to our planet, and most people seem to operate under a 'this isn’t going to be my problem' mindset. But it is our problem, we are running out of time. With new legislation hopefully we can begin to make our ever-growing society more in tune with the world that sustains us."

- James McInvale

"I was intrigued by the idea of an interwoven root system that represented the power of working together. By yourself, small efforts may seem insignificant, but if we focus on the bigger picture and work together amazing things can be accomplished. I wanted to show the beauty of what can happen when we all focus on the same goal and rise to the occasion together."

- Sarah S.E. Bloom

"Leaving it better than we found it is the solution to so many problems happening globally, and I am glad that our government is finally starting to represent that with the Green New Deal. Let’s work together on an individual level and hold our politicians and big money companies accountable on a national and international level to make it happen and have a better future for everyone!"

- Tina Schofield

"Beautiful wind turbines feel very natural amongst the grand plains of the Heartland, working alongside their cousins the windmill to provide a new power to rural neighborhoods."

- Marc Osborne
