Artist Statement

I loved reading Jules Verne's scientific adventure novels growing up, and decided to design a cover for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I decided to create a sphere to represent the earth and use a gradient to represent the journey into the depths of the sea. The title font was created from Baskerville, a serif font, to reference that the book is science fiction of a time past. — Janet Wright
