Artist Statement

This painting depicts my life as an immigrant from my native country of Ethiopia. As the exodus of Jews from Egypt, this painting tries to capture the passage of an immigrant to the new world and the unpredictability and the struggle one goes through to reach the promised land. — Yadesa Bojia
