Artist Statement

"I grew up in a farming community in central Pennsylvania and I remember summers harvesting corn in the fields. Farmworks are some of our nation's most vital workers. Their labor brings us low cost fresh fruits and vegetables year round. I wanted to capture an image of the migrant farmworker who travels from place to place to work in agriculture." - Jessica Gerlach

Jessica Gerlach is a designer and illustrator currently living in Cedar City, Utah where she teaches art and design at Southern Utah University. She is passionate about design, science, letterpress, books, animation, and beautiful things.

About We Can Do It!

We Can Do It! is a collection of designs inspired by the iconic “We Can Do It” poster of the 1940's to celebrate modern-day workers (women and men alike) who keep the country running and rarely receive the recognition they deserve. Proceeds support Ultraviolet, a powerful and rapidly growing community of people from all walks of life mobilized to fight sexism and expand women's rights.

About our Prints

Each poster is hand-printed and handled, to make sure that only the highest quality is offered and sent out. The matte paper and high quality of inks make for a vibrant image which looks great both framed, and au-naturel. Printed in Los Angeles, CA, on Epson Enhanced Matte Paper, heavyweight stock, high color gamut, using Epson UltraChrome HDR ink-jet technology. Framed posters offer the same, museum-quality printed poster, but wrapped in a protective black frame. The frame is lightweight and includes a shatter-resistant acrylite front protector, so it won't break in the mail. International orders may be subject to customs duties & taxes.
