Artist Statement

The Federalist Papers were an inspiration for the birth of the United States of America. One can help distill the magnitude of the book\'s contents by showing its great influence. A script typeface is incorporated in the title to show original handwritten format. The illustration style used on the portraits is a loose stylistic adaptation to the pen inked portraits of Hamilton, Madison, and Jay. In the background, Capitol Hill sits behind the authors to show that their ideas are the firm roots that sprouted the framework of the country. The 13 stars and alternating red/white stripes symbolize the arrival of new states and the dawn of a larger, more influential country. — Zelda Vidal
