Artist Statement

"As a 9th generation Californian, I basically grew up at the beach in San Diego and I have lifeguards to thank for my continued safety. The noble lifeguard is severely under-compensated for the amazing feats of courage and selflessness they perform daily. In spite of their tremendous bravery and their willingness to sacrifice everything for the safety of strangers, they are among the lowest paid public servants in California. Most lifeguards stay in peak physical condition and are trained in emergency response techniques to facilitate their role, and yet they cannot make a living wage while saving the lives of others. To those who struggle to make ends meet while pulling children out of rip tides and keeping our beaches and pools safe, thank you for your service!" - David Hays

About We Can Do It!

We Can Do It! is a collection of designs inspired by the iconic “We Can Do It” poster of the 1940's to celebrate modern-day workers (women and men alike) who keep the country running and rarely receive the recognition they deserve. Proceeds support Ultraviolet, a powerful and rapidly growing community of people from all walks of life mobilized to fight sexism and expand women's rights.

About our Prints

Each poster is hand-printed and handled, to make sure that only the highest quality is offered and sent out. The matte paper and high quality of inks make for a vibrant image which looks great both framed, and au-naturel. Printed in Los Angeles, CA, on Epson Enhanced Matte Paper, heavyweight stock, high color gamut, using Epson UltraChrome HDR ink-jet technology. Framed posters offer the same, museum-quality printed poster, but wrapped in a protective black frame. The frame is lightweight and includes a shatter-resistant acrylite front protector, so it won't break in the mail. International orders may be subject to customs duties & taxes.
