Growing up The Secret Garden was one of my childhood favorites. Reading this book always sparked my imagination and creativity. Mary Lenox brought the secret garden back to life with water, thus my medium of choice is watercolor. Watercolor has a fluidity and organic nature to it, as does the plot of the secret garden. As a kid I didnât grasp the imaginative nature of the book from the cover. I wanted to display just enough of the story so the readers got an idea of what the story is about while also enticing them to open the book to see what is behind the door.
