She studied drawing and painting at Carnegie Mellon, where her paintings were first recognized for a strong narrative quality. She has exhibited in Pittsburgh, PA, Ithaca, NY, Binghamton, NY, and Toronto, Canada. Her work has also been featured in the Sandy River Review, CALYX, and the Park Slope Reader. She lives and works in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.

Artist Statement

Wolfish, lone wolf, the big bad wolf, wolfman . . . we are intrigued by wolves and feel a connection to them and their wildness. I wanted to depict this respectful distance to the wild, yet connectedness we have with this animal. — Jennifer Gibson
