Artist Statement

I live in Portugal and have helped raise funds to save the land of a local wolf sanctuary by donating artworks on wolves. I am passionate about this beautiful but cruelly treated wild animal. Lakota was an omega wolf from the Sawtooth pack written up in the book ‘Wolves at Our Door’ by Jamie and Jim Dutcher, wildlife experts who lived and studied them in the 90’s. Lakota was also immortalized in the children’s book ‘A Friend for Lakota’ about how Lakota braved bullying. — Mary StGeorge
