Artist Statement

To inform solutions to stem the tide of gun violence, we must recognize the motivations behind the use of guns. When those motivations are driven by strongly emotional opinions, introducing a gun forces a point of view. That escalation chills free expression and limits options for coming up with meaningful ways to address concerns. Freedome of expression isn\'t always pleasant but it does provide an opportunity to share concerns...which is at least one step towards working through issues together. — Julie Meridian
