Artist Statement

This piece was inspired by the work of Lester Beall, as well as early Ringling Brothers poster art--apropos of a political circus. The work can be seen as a rejection of an elected leader (as a menacing clown), or as a repudiation of such portrayals (as hateful). — Steve Wammack
