Artist Statement

I chose the illustrate the Soviet space mission Vostok 6 (Восток 6). It was this mission where cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to reach space. I drew inspiration for the design from the Russian avant-guard and vintage Soviet propaganda posters. — Krista Sharp
