Artist Statement

Juno is a NASA space probe launched with the exciting Mission to orbit Jupiter. The Juno Probe mission launched August of 2011. This design highlights the newest findings of the Great Red Spot from the data acquired during Juno's research in July of 2016. The red background is used to magnify the newly discovered intense heat generated from the GRS (Great Red Spot) storm. Prior to Juno's Mission, scientist believed that Jupiter's atmosphere was cold due to its far distance from the sun. The name Juno is also interesting because its correlated to the Greek Goddess Hera. In Greek mythology Juno was the Sister and wife to Jupiter. With the NASA Juno Probe Mission, science meets fiction in a match made in Space. Juno is Orbiting Her Jupiter. — Ginnie McKnight
