Artist Statement

"Named after Sierra Club founder and environmental advocate, John Muir, these woods located on Mount Temalpais on the Pacific coast are considered old growth coast redwood (sequoia sempervirens). This representation attempts to pull you into the unique habitat that is Muir Woods." - Bryan Bromstrup

Oil painting runs deep in Bryan's family, going back multiple generations. After many years of suggestions to take up the pursuit, he gave it a try in January 2013. After his first year painting, he loves it and continues to expand his perspectives with oil techniques and photography.
