Artist Statement

I chose Europa Mission because of it's specific purpose of exploring conditions that may foster life in our solar system. The mission would place a spacecraft in orbit around Jupiter in order to perform a detailed investigation of the giant planet's moon Europa -- a world that shows strong evidence for an ocean of liquid water beneath its icy crust and which could host conditions favorable for life. Becoming an inter-planetary species is a key initiative humans must explore as we enter the next age of space exploration. With missions already slated for human exploration or Mars, I am intrigued by the idea of more suitable habitats for life such as Europa. — Robert Skoff
