Artist Statement

I made this piece in light of recent policy changes around immigration and family separation as a reminder that we need to stay united in order to stay strong and fight for the change we want to see in the world. The image of a daisy chain resonates with me because although daisies are small, fragile, and often viewed as weeds, they are surprisingly strong and when linked together create something even stronger and more beautiful, just like us when we work together as a big community to speak out for and help each other. — Gillian Dreher
