During the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump supporter and Mexican-American Marco Gutierrez made a particularly ludicrous statement, "My culture is a very dominant culture. It is imposing and it's causing problems. If you don't do something about it, you're going to have taco trucks [on] every corner." (September 2016 interview with Joy Reid on MSNBC) I mean first of all, a taco truck on every corner would be pretty great. Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton agreed as well: "I personally think a taco truck on every corner sounds absolutely delicious." But on a serious note, diversity has been proven to create more innovative teams, more profitable businesses, and safer communities.
