Artist Statement

Mill wrote about "liberty" in terms of the Victorian society that he lived in, and in relation to his strict religious upbringing . He was a little fuzzy on how it would all work out, but he took a good stab at it. Liberty was idealized on the dime, which relates to how we think about liberty in America. - Vivian Chang
