Artist Statement

Walnut Canyon, located near Flagstaff, Arizona, is one of the most fascinating places I have had the privilege to visit. Centuries ago, the Sinagua people settled in this canyon, carving out homes in the walls of the canyons themselves, living high above the ground. They were excellent farmers and lived there for many years before mysteriously vanishing. The ruins are well protected and accessible, if you don't mind a bit of a climb back up the many steps to get out again. ‰ÛÓ Sheri Emerson
