I am an illustrator based in Austin, Texas with a particular love for dry-brush gouache painting. Both my life and work are heavily influenced by the aesthetics of the 1940's, '50s and '60s. I fancy myself a collector of memories as much as a collector of things, and enjoy bringing this sense of nostalgia to my audience.

Artist Statement

There may still be a difficult road ahead, but I am in awe of the progress that the LGBTQ community has been able to make, despite the hatred they face on a regular basis. Every person who identifies within this spectrum should be proud not only of who they are, but also for their fierce bravery and warrior hearts. It takes a lot of courage, resilience, and passion to push your culture and society in a forward-moving direction. Pride Month is an excellent opportunity to celebrate that (although we should feel free to do it any day of the year, as well!) — Caitlin Alexander
