I'm a transplanted Southerner who lives in--and Loves, Chicago. I make things like whimsical art, songs and poems-- and grow things like twins, dogs, cats, fish & MANY plants. I have a website called veggiegiggles.com that celebrates the beautiful and amazing things right under our noses everyday. And I always try to be nice.

Artist Statement

Splat is a character from the Waterfolk, who live in a picture book I've been working on. They're trying to tell folks about the scary challenges they face & hoping to figure out what in the world we're all gonna do about it. Which is a Big Problem, because most of Us is made of Them. The Waterfolk just want to be Clean and Available to everyone, and stay in the places they belong. I am making them because Water never ceases to amaze me, and I want folks to share in the Wonder of it. And take care of it. — Karen Reeves
