I wanted to convey a sense of foreboding and drama in my interpretation of this book. I used a very graphic image, to simplify the composition, and one in which the ocean looks calm, but with rising waves. The type of the title symbolizes the characters, implying what's going on above and below the surface. — Dan O'Leary
