"I wanted to make a howling wolf in a setting with mountains, a full moon and a forest. I make pop-surrealism, so the mountains look a bit like melting popsicles, and the wolf doesn\'t look scary at all. A friend commented that it looks like the cover of the movie Jaws, but that wasn\'t my original intention." - Matilde Digmann
Matilde Digmanns illustrational style could be called pop-surrealism. It references popular culture such as internet memes, sci-fi movie posters and LOL cats. She loves the fact that she\'s able to draw her favorite things: animals, spaceships, little houses, kosmonauts, mountains and rockets.
She likes to make her drawings really detailed, tactile, ironic and weird. She likes to use ink and she couldn’t get the same line on a computer as she can on paper. She wants to make stuff that people want to hang in their houses and that will make them happy.
About Join the Pack
Join the Pack, a collection of designs celebrating the wolf by portraying its wildness, mystery and general bad-assness. We hope to combat fear and misunderstanding of wolves by celebrating the species and building a greater appreciation for the iconic creatures. Proceeds support Earthjustice, using the power of law to defend our right to a healthy environment.
About our Prints
Each poster is hand-printed and handled, to make sure that only the highest quality is offered and sent out. The matte paper and high quality of inks make for a vibrant image which looks great both framed, and au-naturel. Printed in Los Angeles, CA, on Epson Enhanced Matte Paper, heavyweight stock, high color gamut, using Epson UltraChrome HDR ink-jet technology. Framed posters offer the same, museum-quality printed poster, but wrapped in a protective black frame. The frame is lightweight and includes a shatter-resistant acrylite front protector, so it won't break in the mail.
