Oscar Hidalgo Balarezo I'm a costarricense non-binary creative currently living in NYC with my husband and dog. I love taking care of plants, art, design, and reading the tarot. I received my B.Arch and set out to take on the world one creative project at a time. I have worked as a graphic designer/3D modeler/presentation designer/web designer since. I'm very quiet by nature and use my illustrations as a way to communicate my feelings about the world around me in a way I don't think words could ever do. I'm a member of visual artists collective WeMakeAmerica and volunteer for a number of organizations in NYC like Heritage of Pride, 350BK, etc. All of that aside, I believe the most important thing to know about me from the start is I'll always be available to lend a friendly ear to anyone who needs it.

Artist Statement

I designed it to support the gun control movement. It was originally used for signs carried by the WeMakeAmerica collective during MarchForOurLives2018, so I painted it on a cardboard shield. Now I have turned it into a digital file that I think will work very well when printed on apparel. Inspired by the immortal words of Emma Gonzalez during a gun control rally on February 17th, 2018. — Oscar Hidalgo Balarezo
