Oscar Hidalgo Balarezo I'm a costarricense non-binary creative currently living in NYC with my husband and dog. I love taking care of plants, art, design, and reading the tarot. I received my B.Arch and set out to take on the world one creative project at a time. I have worked as a graphic designer/3D modeler/presentation designer/web designer since. I'm very quiet by nature and use my illustrations as a way to communicate my feelings about the world around me in a way I don't think words could ever do. I'm a member of visual artists collective WeMakeAmerica and volunteer for a number of organizations in NYC like Heritage of Pride, 350BK, etc. All of that aside, I believe the most important thing to know about me from the start is I'll always be available to lend a friendly ear to anyone who needs it.

Artist Statement

I created this artwork on my tablet, right after 2018 Women's March. I was not happy about how a lot of the signs I saw were hateful comments directed at the current administration. I get that venting is important, however, I wish people to focus on the inherent strength there is in every woman and how much more powerful we can become when we are united by love. The ideas that 'This is Our Time to Speak Up' and that we should be driven by love and our united strength were in my head when I made this. @ozzizezzno — Oscar Hidalgo Balarezo
