Artist Statement

I created my poster using a mix of traditional and digital media. All the linework is done using pen and ink, and the piece is colored digitally. My main focus while making the piece was on color and composition. I wanted to capture the feeling of an old "choose your own adventure" book cover- something that felt old and ignited a feeling of adventure in the viewer. For me, the seemingly endless tunnels of Jewel Cave are hidden, mysterious, and begging to be explored. These concepts drove me as I drew the piece. - Reb Katula
