Artist Statement

"Sarah Crewe survives her difficult circumstances by using the powers of her vivid imagination. This cover is meant to illustrate the contrast between the cold and snowy London rooftop of her reality and the luxurious stories Sarah tells to sustain herself and inspire others. The warm pattern hints at the character\'s connection to India. The illustration was painted with watercolor and gouache and the type, \"Vitrina,\" was added in Photoshop." - Jessica Greene
