I'm a Colombian American artist who creates work for editorial and commercial clients. I feel most complete when I create art that can also be used in conjunction with conversations about inclusion, diversity and equity. My work is an attempt at exploring the dynamics between traditional monotype ink prints and digital techniques, and I draw upon influences such as Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, and my own background.

I've studied and worked in the creative industry all my life, including a decade as art director of covers for Newsweek International Magazine. My work has been seen in the Society of Illustrators LA and I've served as a Jury member for the Society of illustrators 53rd Annual. I received my BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and my MFA in Illustration from the Hartford Art School.

Artist Statement

This piece is an attempt to further the dialogue between people. When we embrace a mutual respect for each other, our sense of common community grows. An embrace begins with empathy. It's our own personal challenge to take an active role in growing it. - Adolfo Valle
