I wanted to incorporate the Earth itself in my design. I chose to depict the planet as a seed to show that there is room for growth and rebirth, but that it is also fragile and needs to be nurtured in order to thrive. I used colored pencil and and marker because I wanted it to have a hand-drawn, almost childish feel. — Brendan Gates
