Artist Statement

"The spacecraft's name comes from Greco-Roman mythology. The god Jupiter drew a veil of clouds around himself to hide his mischief, but his wife, the goddess Juno, was able to peer through the clouds and see Jupiter's true nature.” – NASA mission pages The fact that this mission has taken nearly 5 years just to arrive at it's target and begin studying the planet is fascinating (and more than a little amazing) to me. I can hardly plan what I want to do tomorrow let alone that far into the future! I had an idea that the "U" in JUNO would make for a perfect little launching pad for the rocket and the design "took off" from there. Sorry for the pun... — Jon Briggs
