Artist Statement

This poster depicts how America gives us all an opportunity to be whatever we want to be. we can choose to get an education or we can choose to pursue a skill job and work in the labor force. I wanted to depict the blue collar and the white collar workers and how even though they each take different paths they are both vital to the continuation of our country which is represented by the city they are walking to. Lastly this piece is inspired by a quote that my cousin told me once, he said "You can either pick up the tool or go to school" which really resonated with me. — Roger Alvarado
