Registered as a National Historic Site in 2012 , Theodore Roosevelt Highschool's unique history lives up to this honorable designation. Whether it's a young boy named Michael competing in a talent show, that eventually emerges to the world as being the King of Pop, or his older siblings that graduated from Roosevelt Highschool and all achieve global stardom as the Jackson family; Theodore Roosevelt Highschool was the place in Gary, Indiana to prove if you have what it takes to be the best. From Olympic Gold Medal Runners, NBA championship winning basketball players, NFL Superbowl winners, NCAA football players, Championship baseball players, and etc the Panther field house was the iconic place of sportsmanship and competition in Gary, Indiana and the surrounding region. Every champion from Gary, had to compete and perform on the Panther's premises. Considering the diversity of achievement and excellence rooted in it's history, Roosevelt Highschool's status as a National Historical Site is no surprise. - Ginnie McKnight
