Artist Statement

Since the book is about the mysterious "woman in white", I wanted to make a figure that represented her, yet not giving away her identity. Additionally, I thought it would be cool to play with positive and negative space, so I drew her arms wrapped up. That element of design demonstrates/ represents her being in a stray jacket, due to her running away from an asylum. Made the cover using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. — Michelle Martinez
