Inspired by the beautiful countryside, the spectacular mountain scenery and amazing variety New Zealander and Australia has to offer, I decided to start an instagram illustration page called bee happy planet. When you travel, you find yourself sprouting roots as you go, leaving you feeling connected to different parts of the world. Here I began my creative journey, whilst also journeying across Oceania. Through illustration, I try and evoke a a sense of connection with the natural world. With that comes a connection to one’s self. I’m an advocate for the environment and I create with the hope it reminds people we are part of a beautiful planet and we must take care of our home.

Artist Statement

This poster design has a simple, loving message. We must take care of our beautiful planet, and all the inhabitants. Bees are declining, birds are loosing their habitats, wildflowers are becoming rare - we are in troubling times. Me, and many others I hope, love the planets diversity and want to protect all it has to offer. - Joy Holdsworth
