Artist Statement

Haleakala Crater is truly one of the wonders of the world. I have been fortunate to visit twice in my lifetime, and I swear it looked almost exactly the same, 20 years apart. After a long climb up the volcano on the gorgeous island of Maui, you arrive at what looks like a moonscape. It is amazing to behold. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Big Island and see Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes. This is one of my very favorite places on the entire planet. ‰ÛÓ Sheri Emerson
