Artist Statement

My father was a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force. He loved the service and he loved the building (though thought the Catholic Chapel should have been the main floor, where the Protestant Chapel is, instead of the lower floor!). I know my way around church interiors- I used to design stain glass, wall reliefs and sculpture for churches (back in college) so seen many and varied types. Also have a great affection for the space age- when the future was being summoned- and the USAF Cadet chapel is like no other church, modernist, futuristic, the elemental triangular shapes resembling airframes climbing into the sky- just a very inspirational building. ‰ÛÓ Brixton Doyle
