Artist Statement

AZ-01 is the most diversely beautiful district, not only in Arizona, but possibly in the entire country. From the Grand Canyon to Walnut Canyon, to Sedona and Sunset Crater, to the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert, to the wilds of the Coconino National Forest and the San Francisco Peaks of Flagstaff, it is an explorer's dream. Arizonans are wonderful people, with an independent spirit, and I am proud to live there. My art piece depicts some of my favorite sites I have been fortunate to visit in the district, and it is my dearest hope that this district swings in 2018. — Sheri Emerson
