Mills Tandy is a fine art photographer and biologist based in Monteverde, Costa Rica. He has photographed Africa, South Central Asia, Central America, Europe, Mexico, Pacific Islands and the US. Recent efforts have concentrated on Carara National Park, Chirripo National Park, Corcovado National Park, Costa Rican cloud forests, the Huachuca Mountains of SE Arizona, the La Selva Biological Station, the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas, Minnesota and South Dakota tallgrass prairies, the Rocky Mountains, South Central Asia and the Sonoran Desert. Mills holds degrees in Environmental and Systematic Zoology and Botany from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the American Association of Professional Photographers, the Monteverde Conservation League, the Monteverde Institute, the North American Nature Photographers Association and La Sociedad Mesoamericana para la Biologia y la Conservacion. He has studied with several West Coast photographers including Ansel Adams and Chris Rainier and with John Paul Caponigro.
