Artist Statement

The John Muir National Historic Site is a treasure for the town of Martinez. I live nearby, and this has been on my list of historic places in California to paint. I chose watercolor for this composition. Touring the 14 room Victorian mansion and grounds, you really feel like you're stepping back in time.ÌâåÊ You will learn so much here about John Muir, this wonderful naturalist and conservationist, Father of our National Park Service. ‰ÛÓ Elizabeth Kennen
