Rene Trujillo Rene Saul Trujillo is a current resident in Chicago Illinois attending Columbia College. Rene was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico to attend the College of Santa Fe for about two years. When the school was forced to close down due to debt, Rene found an opportunity to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to complete the remainder of his undergrad education. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in the spring of 2011. He then began to work on series of experimental artwork and selling many of his art pieces in various exhibits and art shows. Due to the rise of computer programs becoming a major part in the art world, in the fall of 2014, Rene Trujillo began his pursuit for his second Bachelors degree in Illustration at Columbia College.

Artist Statement

What is being depicted for the viewer is a moment where Dracula has already claimed his most recent victim. The viewer has this moment to gaze into the eye of the monster and see that although this creature is violent and angry, he is also a very tormented soul. — Rene Trujillo
