Andy Carey was born in Salem, MA and raised in the Greater Boston area. Andy’s youth was spent in ice rinks, but he managed to discover my passion for making art. In 2001, Andy earned a BFA in graphic design with Honors from Montserrat College of Art. During the following year, Andy began work on the “space-ism” concept which produced the first piece for the Icon Series. The concept focuses on creating planes of space within two dimensional artwork while simplifying the imagery to geometric shapes. Over time, illustrations emerged from these paintings. In addition, Andy produces traditional drawings, mixed media pieces, and works as a graphic designer. Since 2003, Andy and his wife have been stuck in the terrifying traffic of Southern California.
